"Representative Spencer has disgraced himself and should resign immediately," House Speaker David Ralston said in a statement, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Georgia is better than this".
Whether the greater number is a good thing or not is subjective: some want fewer amendments to the constitution, so a larger number is better because amendments are harder to pass.
Representative Charles B. Rangel, Democrat of New York, said: "This court has found that politics is better than the Constitution.
I agree with Sandy Levinson that the Constitution could be better.
The government has stated that the new constitution can be amended, and that an imperfect document is better than nothing.
"Conservatives convinced other people that their vision of the Constitution was a better one, they won elections, they appointed their people to the Court," Balkin said.
Even at its inception, the Constitution was probably better understood than it is today as being very much about the protection of private property (including the human form) and maintaining law and order (often linked the suppression of rebellious slaves and poor whites).
But the new Constitution has to be better than the old one.
The constitution is about making Europe work better and it does not significantly transfer more powers from Britain to the EU".
Others may feel, though, that the Constitution is a Pandora's box better left unopened for fear of what else may get mucked around with.
