Enhanced secondary compression with overburden and diatom content leads to a natural curvature of consolidation lines, the latter occasionally falsely interpreted as preconsolidation stress.
Chest US was performed by an emergency physician, looking for presence of interstitial syndrome, alveolar consolidation, pleural line abnormalities, and pleural effusion, in 34 patients with a final diagnosis of pneumonia, in 16 having normal initial CRx, and in 33 without pneumonia, as controls.
The merger is an "end-to-end" consolidation; the lines presently interchange at three points, including the Winona, Minnesota connection between the DM&E's main line across southern Minnesota and CP's Chicago main.

Such key findings as A lines, B lines, consolidation, pleural effusion, or lung sliding, which have been described in the seminal work of Dr Lichtenstein [ 4], apply equally to the adult as to the neonate.
Distribution of diagnoses based on lung ultrasound findings, chest X-ray findings, and clinical outcomes using a modified BLUE protocol [4] is presented in Table 2. Interobserver agreement for ultrasound findings of lung consolidation with air bronchograms, B-lines or small subpleural consolidations, and A-lines by Cohen's Kappa was 0.82 (95% confidence interval (CI), 0.63 to 0.99) (Table 3).
