These results imply that the rupture area of the 1906 earthquake may have involved those of the previous three earthquakes; in other words, the 1906 earthquake might have been a consolidated-type earthquake that simultaneously ruptured all these areas, similar to the case of the Nankai Trough Earthquake in Japan (Furumura et al. 2011).
