By FFL using a rod of smaller diameter (0.5 mm) than that used in the rat, we consistently obtained typical cortical malformations consisting of a longitudinal microgyrus in the rostrocaudal direction with a length of 2 4 mm (Fig. 1 A, B) by P7 (n = 8).
