Consistent clinical trial data strongly suggest that regular use of aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) lowers the lifetime risk of developing CRC (Algra and Rothwell, 2012, Arber et al., 2006, Chan and Lippman, 2011, Chan et al., 2007, Rothwell et al., 2010).

In any case, we believe that evidence for the routine use of DrotAA should be based on consistent clinical trials and should not depend on the use of a particular meta-analytic statistical model, particularly one that does not account for between-trial heterogeneity.
