This ad hoc nature does not make the hypothesized mechanisms false, but it does put a premium on finding some independent, positive evidence of their operation and role rather than simply relying on their ability, if true, to furnish the needed mechanisms or apparent consistencies with observations, since they were chosen in part as support of these observations and proposed mechanisms.
We used these data [: p. 46, Fig. 10] with slight modifications to characterize the distribution of specific emissions for the four main smelter technologies above (see Figure 3) in a manner that ensures consistency with atmospheric observations.
Mathematical models that synthesize the best available data while ensuring consistency with epidemiological observations can project outcomes beyond those reported in clinical trials, can provide insights into cost-effectiveness, and can be modified as new information becomes available (Garnett et al, 2006; Goldie et al, 2007).
By applying alternative purification and assay techniques to isoenzymes with low activity, new data were collected, allowing the model to be refined and improving its consistency with the observations.
In general consistency with these observations, ordinal logistic regression (OLR) analysis indicates a significant effect of the factors bacterial strain, worm strain or genotype, the interaction between the two, and also experimental run on the treatment response (Table 1).
Next, limited restrained refinements were performed, first using ProSMART-generated external restraints (Nicholls et al., 2012) to the PDB_REDO-optimized (Joosten et al., 2012) entries of chain A of 1W7A and chain A of 1BKN in order to ensure consistency with prior observations, followed by TLS and jelly-body refinement in latter stages.
One miRNA, miR-21, was also affected in the Sakamoto study [5] and shows consistency with their observation.
This paper presents a cross section of this database for the two-fold purpose of evaluating the in-situ dynamic properties and comparing them to design values and then using these properties to predict RMS accelerations' levels based on wind tunnel test data to evaluate their consistency with full-scale observations.
Note that the big-leaf representation of the canopy and the neglect of nutrient limitation are also features of many global scale models (e.g. Prentice et al. 2011), so their apparent consistency with leaf-scale observations of decreasing Vcmax and/or Jmax under eCO2 may not be a good indication for the correct representation of acclimation to eCO2.
In consistency with the previous observation (Straub et al., 2007), the LSECs in normal mice contain numerous sieve plates with open fenestrae (Fig. 1A).
