Balancing ethical and medical considerations, the guidelines governing the collection, storage, and use of human tissue samples for research were put together after extensive consultations with expert scientists, as well as local religious, professional, and civic organizations.
The implication of this is that very few PTs practice without consideration of the guidelines after the implementation intervention, which should have a positive impact on the quality of care.
The document containing the SORs was then reviewed by a group of independent experts (see the appendix) and after taking into consideration their comments, the guidelines were validated by the working group.
Due to the explorative character and practical considerations as the guideline was not yet consented at the beginning of the cross-sectional study we asked the 17 last recruited GPs (all asked GPs gave their consent to the study participation) of the 56 GPs in the cross-sectional study to participate in our evaluation study.
Older age in itself should not exclude patients from receiving therapy, but in the frail elderly the risks may outweigh the benefits of starting preventive treatment.[ 18] GPs who do not start lipid-lowering treatment in patients with near goal lipid levels, could be viewed as disputing the considerations made in the guidelines.
Veterinarians motivated by epidemiological considerations would follow the guidelines for the scoring and would treat based on certain criteria which vary little between cows and herds, so as to be able to create meaningful data valid in large scale analyses (across herds and veterinary practices).
More recent updates of carotid endarterectomy in Scotland took place in 2005 and 2007; these took into consideration the published SIGN guidelines (not including 2008) and NHSQIS National Health Service Quality Improvementt Scotland) clinical standards and reported on the 482 interventions (448 carotid surgery) performed in 2005.
In more serious cases, the guidelines say, consideration may be given to the offence of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
If the guidelines advised consideration of diet and exercise before any drug prescription, healthcare costs might be reduced (Fig. 1).
