In addition, both microarray and RT-qPCR analyses indicated that the up-regulation of Δ5 fad and Δ6 fad showed a considerably higher fold-change in the Lean fish, due mainly to lower basal expression of fads in Lean salmon, compared to Fat, when fed FO.
The MFI of staining with dextramers was considerably higher (2·70 5·75 fold increase) in all cases.

Given the modest insulator effect observed at the CBT1 locus, we investigated the ATG31 –tV UAC D– SES1 locus anticipating a more robust effect, as genome-wide expression data indicate that SES1 is transcribed at considerably higher levels (∼70-fold) than is ATG31 in rich media (Holstege et al. 1998; Xu et al. 2009).
