Based on recommendations from a review by Archer [ 24], we measured ' consequential impact' using three questions about the linkage between feedback and trainees' learning goals, the possibility for trainees to reflect and linkage of new with earlier feedback, all with a five-point Likert scale (Additional file 1: Table S3).
