Thanks to applying the above-mentioned separation rules in addition to designing timetable(s) on particular lines/routes and the entire HSR network accordingly, the HSR systems are free of congestion and consequent delays due to the direct mutual influence of trains on each other while 'competing' to use the same segment of given lines/routes at the same time.
