If the relationship between size and age is itself heritable, then the evolutionary consequences of fishing on size and age at maturation will depend on the shape of that relationship (Kuparinen and Merilä 2007).

Through interviews with Akwesasne Mohawk community members and environmental officials, I explore the impact fish advisories have had on this community, the extent to which the community decreased or ceased their fish consumption, and the unintended health and cultural consequences of fish advisories.
