The tests consist of two sets of channel of size 50 × 40 mm specimens with 1.2 and 1.5 mm thickness, with the same connection length for all the samples as shown in Tables 2, 3 and 4, respectively, and the complete connection details of three bolted connection of the specimen shown in Fig. 4.
We estimate that approximately 20% of the patients were prescribed empiric treatment in connection with the collection of specimens and that some of the deaths may have been associated with reduced efficacy of flouroquinolones, as described in Mølbak et al. (17 ).
As stated earlier, the connection for Specimen No. 2 had failed after 4½ months; therefore, it is anticipated that better performance, likely similar to Specimen No. 1, may have been observed if a failure of the connection had not occurred.
Eight sets of connection specimens, with three specimens in each set, were selected based on the variation in column thickness, beam depth, and the number of tabs in the beam end connector.
Displacement ductility (µe ) of a connection specimen is the ratio of ultimate drift ratio (Θ U ) to the effective yield drift ratio (Θ e ).

For better connection of tissue and agarose, specimens were incubated shortly in Poly-L-Lysin and then embedded in 4% agarose dissolved in aqua dest.
The IS:800-2007 AS/NZS/NZS 4600 2005 predictions are good for the specimens with three bolted connections and unconservative in the case of specimen with two bolts.
Finite element analysis of the connection specimen is also performed to compare the in-plane displacement distributions calculated from both methods.
