"confused knowledge" is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
It can be used to describe a state of uncertainty or lack of clarity in one's understanding or information about a particular subject. Example: The scientist's research was hindered by his confused knowledge of the complex equations involved in his project.
The first step is to move from having confused knowledge of the effect to having confused knowledge of the cause.
