Indeed, there seem to be as many different, often disparate, at times conflicting solutions as there are those offering them.
Using this strategy, we can differentiate between arrangements with exact solution (i.e., the formation can be explained by exactly one mechanism), arrangements with nonambiguous solution (i.e., only one mechanism explains the arrangement but there are several events possible) and arrangements with ambiguous solution (i.e., conflicting solutions of different types).
This observation reconciles conflicting earlier solution and crystallographic studies obtained for RSV, where solution characterization suggested a non-globular, extended tetramer (Esperante et al., 2011) while the crystal structure indicated a compact, stable, intertwined tetrameric assembly (Tanner et al., 2014).
In summary, by examining brain activity, we supported our hypothesis that preferential choice cannot be characterized as a compensatory process with the aim of maximizing the overall value of a prospect in a conflict solution.
