It is found that the introduction of dielectric layer in such two structures can greatly enhance the current density on metal dielectric interface, the field confinement, the power flow carried by SPPs and the excitation efficiency of SPPs, owing to the SPP wavevector matching.
The first term is proportional to number of stimulated emitted photons with the power confinement factor Γ. Power confinement factor was calculated using FDTD simulation to be 0.3 for the fundamental mode.
The structures proposed in Refs. [23 25] also represent noticeable improvement in terms of EML, confinement loss and power fraction.
Table 1 shows the comparison taking into account of EML, confinement loss (αCL), power fraction of porous air holes in core and dispersion variation.
Figure 6 shows the confinement loss and power fraction in air holes of the porous core as a function D core with different core porosities.

It has been demonstrated that by properly tailoring the fiber's design parameters EML can be lowered significantly, while other guiding parameters such as confinement loss and power fraction can be kept above acceptable limits.
For a reliable operation of Ion Cyclotron RF (ICRF) systems on fusion devices with magnetic confinement at high power, an improvement of the voltage stand-off of RF transmission lines and antennas is required.
