"confined sample" is a grammatically correct phrase and can be used in written English.
It describes a small group or subset of a larger population that has been limited or restricted in some way. An example of using "confined sample" in a sentence could be: "The study only looked at a confined sample of college students, which may not accurately represent the opinions of the entire student body."
