Mr. Wiltshire worked at the New York Fed from 2001 until Feb. 15, when he was fired for unrelated conduct, prosecutors said.

Some of the alleged conduct, which prosecutors have not detailed, might come to light this week when prosecutors are expected to file sentencing memorandums.
In recent decades, forfeiture powers have greatly expanded, leading to overzealous and mean-spirited conduct by prosecutors, critics say.
