It was around ten years later that I made "Love on the Run," which included flashback sequences from the earlier Doinel films and had the feeling of a conclusion for me.
I found this film especially moving, largely because of Ben Stern's extraordinary articulation, from beginning to end, with a conclusion that for me was both surprising and inspiring, and distinguished this story from so many others.
