Concerning the 12 samples that were positive for Gram-negative bacteria with Cp values >25, we unfortunately have no access to continuous variables.
A second limitation concerns the sample size.
These tools can be situated in the field of statistical analysis with missing data, which is a useful field of literature to understand how to estimate population parameters in the most accurate way concerning samples that are likely to not be random.
Because of the above-analyzed groups differing on the BDI (a self-rating scale for depressive symptoms, see Table 1), additional analyses were run: A regression analyses showed that concerning the whole sample of patients and controls, the BDI could not significantly explain any variance of the Stroop (R 2 = .00, p = .88) whereas it could explain 20.3%% of variance of the BIS (R 2 = .20, p < .001).001
