The project is approved by the Danish Data Protection Agency and follows all laws concerning the processing of personal data.
All information about the patients, including non-clinical data, protocols, case report forms and verbal and written information, are protected under the act concerning the processing of personal data and the Danish health law.

The revised Article 81.2 says that "processing of personal data concerning health which is necessary for historical, statistical or scientific research purposes shall be permitted only with the consent of the data subject, and shall be subject to the conditions and safeguards referred to in Article 83".
This is especially of concern where Microsoft would rely on consent as a legal basis for the processing of personal data.
