In the TACITUS project at SRI we have developed an approach to abductive inference, called "weighted abduction", that has resulted in a significant simplification of how the problem of interpreting texts is conceptualized.
Ghanizadeh and Mirzaee (2012) believe that "extracting the main ideas or concepts of the passage and enclosing them in squares or boxes may help them conceptualize and organize text ideas and information into a coherent whole" (pp. 57 58).
