This paper follows the discipline of Urban Design to elaborate the concepts of disaster resilience at the neighbourhood level for the collective development of Chennai city.
The primary objective is to integrate the relevant earth sciences, engineering and insurance data with the concepts of disaster risk management, taking into consideration the characteristics and sources of earthquake-related risks.
