One of Europe's biggest computer service providers, Atos S.A. of France, has agreed to acquire the Origin division of Royal Philips Electronics N.V. of the Netherlands, the leading European electronics group, for $2.4 billion in stock.
E.D.S. is the nation's second-largest computer services provider.
