The Federal Bureau of Investigation has determined with a high degree of confidence that the sensitive files were neither compromised nor read, the veterans agency said.
"So far, nothing about this case makes us think that there are new ways to compromise Tor," reads a statement posted to the Tor Project's blog late Wednesday night.
The absence of those progenitors compromised the read-out of the colony assay since numbers of early progenitors are based on the presence of CFU-GEMM.
Moreover, as the direct counting on the soil samples gave heavy quenching effects that compromise the reading efficiency, the counting was carried out on liquid extracts.
"If their closest competitor gets compromised they can read up on the attack and use a pen test to see if they are vulnerable in the same way," he said.
"We regard the data security of our users as one of our greatest responsibilities and want to assure our customers that at no point during this incident was their personal data compromised," the statement read.
Note that an attacker can easily compromise the reading of a sensor by altering the environmental parameters measured by that sensor.
