The interviews were conducted according to an interview guide (see appendix in additional file 1) comprising the following themes: the content of work, task changes over time, and the working conditions that constitute night nursing duties.
The Research Development Group (RDG), comprising the Research Director and Theme Leaders, sought a focus that might translate into research funding.
