In contrast to the overall vegetable food composition, fruits in the Neotropics and in Madagascar vary in their nitrogen concentrations.
The chemical composition of fruit bodies collected from Turkey has been analyzed, and the dried fruit bodies determined to contain the following nutritional components: protein, 19.46%; fat, 3.65%; ash, 32.51%; carbohydrates, 44.38% (including 6.71% as non-digestible cellulose).
Three of the preloads were isocaloric (∼278 kcal) mixed composition dairy fruit drinks (300 g) of low (12.5% energy PRO/87% energy CHO), medium (25% energy PRO/75% energy CHO) and high (50% energy PRO/50% energy CHO) protein content.

This confirms earlier studies focusing on other medicinal polypore species showing that the fungal strain used is important for the chemical composition of fruit bodies (Agafonova et al. 2007) and also for the production of bioactive secondary metabolites (Lv et al. 2012; Sørensen and Giese 2013).
A Greek study determined the nutritional composition of fruit bodies: protein 1.49 g/100 g fresh weight (fw), 18.36 g/100 g dry weight (dw); fat 0.54 g/100 g fw, 6.65 g/100g dw; carbohydrates 5.33 g/100g fw, 65.64 g/100 g dw.
Thus it can be speculated that availability of nutrients may affect the nutrient composition of fruit bodies [ 7].

Table 2 shows different compositions of fruit industrial wastes that constitute the different compositions of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, moisture, ash, carbon, nitrogen, etc. and these constituents have potential to biochemically digested to produce useful products like production of biogas, bio-ethanol, and other commercially useful examples.
