The Li1s core level spectra has been corrected for any background signals using the Shirley algorithm prior to curve resolution and then resolved into two components centered at ~54.8 and 56 eV as shown in inset of Figure S5.
Simulation results show that the spectrum is consisted of two components centered at 530.5 and 533.4 eV.
As shown in Fig. 2d, asymmetric O 1s peak of the sample without H2O on the surface could be coherently fitted by two Gaussian components, centered at 529.7 eV (O a) and at 531.0 eV (O b).
To analyze the C1 s spectrum of the AD-CNTs with a dose of 3 × 1016 cm−2 in details, the C1 s peak was fitted by a Gaussian function with three components centered at 284.1, 285.9 and 288.0 eV, respectively.
The O 1 s peaks of Figure 4a can be deconvoluted into three peaks corresponding to the low binding energy (LP), middle binding energy (MP), and high binding energy (HP) components centered at 530.30 ± 0.1, 531.41 ± 0.11, and 532.45 ± 0.05 eV, respectively.
This broad fluorescence lifetime distribution is an apparent non-Gaussian distribution that contains short lifetime components centered at 1 ns and long lifetime components centered at 2 ns (Fig. 1b, red curves).
