Working with Aβ(1 42) and Aβ(1– 40), they demonstrated that in anti-parallel β-sheet structures the amide I region displays two typical components: the major component has an average spectral wavenumber at ∼1630 cm−1 while the minor component, about five fold weaker than the major one, is characterized by an average wavenumber at ∼1695 cm−1.
We mainly used standard components with an average pixel size of the CCD (a CoolSnap cf2 with a pixelsize of 4.65×4.65 micrometer).
Canopy-forming assemblage types (Fig. 1B) were dominated by the tall and frondose perennial taxa Sargassum fissifolium, S. polycystum, S. oligocystum, S. deccurens, S. siliquosum, Sargassum spp. and Hormophysa cuneiformis, with some Lobophora variegata, Jania adhaerens and Padina spp. as understorey components, with an average diversity of 4.7 taxa ±1.6 SD per 0.25 m2 quadrat.
Certainly, the specific components of an average measure merit further debate and discussion.
To approximate the inhomogeneity in skin cell structure, we placed a 10 μm thick layer of stratum-corneum (SC) cells (flat, scale like, 1.5 index of refraction) atop a 60 μm thick layer of spinosum-like cells (ellipsoidal, 10 15 μm diameter, nucleus and other cellular components with an average index of refraction of 1.35).
In this study the gliding components had an average wear rate of 5.62 ± 0.53 mg/million cycles equivalent to 6.01 ± 0.50 mm/million cycles assuming a material density of 0.935 [ 29] and a cumulative wear after 5 million cycles of 28.68 ± 1.88 mg (30.67 ± 2.00 mm).
In their study of 48 revision TKAs treated with impaction grafting, Lotke et al. (2006) reported that there were no mechanical failures of the impaction grafted components at an average follow-up of 3.6 years, but they found a rather high overall rate of complications (14%).
Ten patients (48%; patients 1, 6, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19) suffered from equinus deformity (less than 0° possible dorsiflexion in the ankle joints), club foot or pes cavovarus with equinus components with an average equinus of 20° (±19°, 5° - 60°).
