To assess the impact of technician involvement on the completion of medication therapy management (MTM) services in a community pharmacy setting and to describe pharmacists' and technicians' perceptions of technician involvement in MTM-related tasks and their satisfaction with the technician's role in MTM.
The exclusion criterion was absence of functional decline, based on the comprehensive assessment; these patients were admitted for transitional care and monitoring, completion of medical treatment, or medication management but were not referred for any specific rehabilitation therapy.
First, although respondents were unanimous that the purpose medication reconciliation was to decrease errors, monitoring efforts focused on completion of the medication reconciliation process (i.e., compliance), with limited resources allocated to monitoring its accuracy or effectiveness (i.e., effect on medication errors).
