The children's intellectual function was assessed on six tests (similarities, digit span, picture completion, coding, block design, and mazes) drawn from the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Version III.
We calculated Performance IQ by combining the Picture Completion, Coding, Picture Arrangement, Block Design and Object Assembly subtests.
It contains 13 subtests, namely Information, Similarities, Arithmetic, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Digit Span, Picture Completion, Coding, Picture Arrangement, Block Design, Object Assembly, Symbol Search and Maze.
We evaluated the following subtests for interrater reliability: Information, Similarities, Arithmetic, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Digit Span, Picture Completion, Coding, Picture Arrangement, Block Design, and Object Assembly.
Verbal subtests together provide a Verbal IQ, and a number of performance subtests (such as Picture Completion, Coding, Block Design, and Mazes) together provide a Performance IQ.
Of the WISC-III Verbal subtests, we used Similarities and Digit Span; of the Performance subtests, we used Picture Completion, Coding, Block Design, and Mazes.
