After she gazed dreamily ahead to a time away from tennis, Li was asked what would have become of her life had she retired earlier in her career, when she completed her university studies.
It took six years, during which Mrs. Beswick completed her university degree and both worked, before the couple was ready to relinquish their urban lifestyle and move to Tasmania.
An aesthetician who is the single mother of two daughters, she fled political unrest in Armenia during the early 1990s, before she had time to complete her university studies, eventually settling in Bronxville because, she said, "I wanted to live where ambitious people who are driven and smart can show my children what it means to work hard and get ahead".

Jana has used her prize money wisely, paying off family debts, buying family homes, supporting her sister through university and completing her own bachelor's degree.
Upon completion, she transferred to a four-year university to complete her Bachelor's degree, through a bridge program that connects nursing programs at community colleges to nursing programs at four-year universities.
After her graduation in architecture from Sir J. J. College of Architecture, Mumbai University, Neera completed her post-graduation in Industrial Design from I.I.T. Powai, Mumbai.
