Determination of response assessment was as follows: complete response (CR: ratio = 0), partial response (PR: 0 < ratio < 0.5), stable disease (SD: 0.5 < ratio < 1.25), or PD (ratio > 1.25).
TVRR shows a significant correlation with tumour pathological regression grade after preoperative CRTP [17] and a volume reduction ratio >75%% is associated with an increased pathologic complete response rate [18].
The lesion complete response rate at 12 months showed that MAL-PDT wasuperioror to cryotherapy (80% versus 67%; odds ratio 1.77) and also better than 5-fluorouracil (80% versus 69%; odds ratio 1.64).
The complete response rate was 17.5%.

These FLC assays have a particular role for the diagnosis and monitoring of light chain only multiple myeloma [ 1], but in addition their sensitivity has lead to the development of a new classification of response of multiple myeloma: stringent complete response (when the FLC ratio has normalised, in addition to standard parameters).
The ratio of complete response rates (CR) for heat plus radiation to radiation alone or the thermal relative risk (TRR) was greater for tumors greater than 10 cm3 as compared to those less than 10 cm3 (TRR = 4.8 and 1.4, respectively).

Stable and progressive disease were associated with hazard ratios of 2.29 (95% CI 0.80 6.13) and 2.93 (95% CI 1.53 5.62) compared with a complete response to chemotherapy, and WT1 staining with a hazard ratio of 1.98 (95% CI 1.28 3.79; p = 0.0138) (Table 4).
