"Family entertainment centers and office parks are not traditionally complementary," said Mr. Stern.
"Japan and China are so complementary," said the business consultant and author Kenichi Ohmae.
"The art and the food are utterly complementary," said Glenn D. Lowry, the museum's director.
"We believe that our systems are highly complementary," said Wow's chief financial officer, Steven Cochran.
These may be two subjects you are familiar with, but they don't have to be: they may be new subjects or a mix of old and new; they may be complementary (say two languages, or English and media) or totally unrelated.
But the work of the two organisations were complementary, said Ahmad, with Al-Haq focusing on the potential legal liability of a corporation or body, and employing rather more low-key tactics than the high-profile, high-pressure BDS approach to celebrities and public figures.
"The studies are important and complementary," says Joseph Waas of the University of Waikato, New Zealand.

"The expertises are really complementary," says Bdeir. "Zach's team, their skill set is in software product and community building and content creation.
