The second group, referred to as Benchmark 2, is composed of six datasets, taken from Monti et al., that nicely complement the datasets in Benchmark 1. Their selection allows for a direct comparison of the performance of FC with Consensus on datasets that were originally used for its validation.
It should be noted that assignment of cluster membership, as well as the comparison of expression profiles between a tissue of interest and it's complement in the dataset in this study are provisional on the limitations of the sample set used.
