These include taking all accusations of sexual misconduct seriously and giving sympathetic attention, by a lay specialist, to complainants; reporting to civil authorities all complaints involving minors; and removing the accused from active ministry immediately, "pending the results of the investigations".
That case only became public because the complainant reported it to Halifax Police, who put out a news release, which was picked up by media including VICE News and prompted a request for information about internal complaints.
