In December 2004, the Specialty Crops Competitiveness Act of 2004 authorized the U.S. Department of Agriculture USDAA) to provide state assistance for specialty crop competitiveness programs.
Competitiveness programs may include: research, promotion, marketing, nutrition, trade enhancement, food safety, food security, plant health programs, education, "buy local" programs, increased consumption, increased innovation, improved efficiency and reduced costs of distribution systems, environmental concerns and conservation, product development, and developing cooperatives.
They also revealed that some selection criteria differ in their importance level across different programs according to their competitiveness level, for example published medical school research was ranked higher by directors of competitive programs.
Students do not reduce their competitiveness for either program by applying to both programs.
"It has to do with program competitiveness, demand and career opportunities," she said.
"But I do want to differentiate on the basis of price elasticity and competitiveness of the program, and that would be very helpful to CUNY".
"We thank Albert for an excellent tenure as director during which he greatly improved on the competitiveness of the program, built the center's capacities in executive and online education, and emphasized social responsibility and sustainability in educating the real estate developers of the future," said Sarkis.
As such, they are an indirect measure of the competitiveness of our program related to others.
While the Obama administration has been pushing a broad array of renewable energy projects, the ones in the electricity field, including solar and wind power, have shown more progress toward technical feasibility and market competitiveness than the programs to replace gasoline with batteries or liquid fuels made from nonfood sources.
