"competitive group" is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
It can be used to refer to a group of people or organizations with a shared goal, such as athletes, businessmen, or politicians, who are competing to accomplish the same goal. For example, "The competitive group of basketball players from our school worked hard to win the championship."
