NEWS The U.S. Federal Trade Commission on Thursday handed Google a big victory in its ongoing battle with regulators, finding that the Internet giant does not violate antitrust or anti-competition statutes in the way it structures its Web searches.
The United States Federal Trade Commission dropped its investigation on the same matter stating that Google did not violate antitrust or anti-competition statutes in the way it arranges its Web search results, instead concluding that changes made to Google's algorithms were intended to help users, not harm competitors.
The contest statute has significant references to the protest statute.
"This decision brings much-needed additional certainty to the legal landscape and should advance the commission's efforts to carry out the statute's competition goals," said Michael K. Powell, the F.C.C. head.
This is not to criticize Flora Cross, who gives a delicate, determined, and downright spooky performance as Eliza, but to ask whether spelling competitions should, by statute, be open to anybody whose father is Richard Gere.
Should any of Fifa's voters be found guilty of such crimes, Fifa's statutes provide for the competition to be re-run.
They filed their original complaint in May 2009, under a California statute known as the Unfair Competition Law that offers equitable relief, such as injunctions and restitutions.

The judge's ruling addresses violations of two California statutes: the Consumers Legal Remediess Act and the Unfair Competition Law.
American Needle sued the N.F.L., arguing that the Reebok deal violated antitrust statutes because the league conspired to stifle competition and inflate prices.
