Comparison of intakes from the Choices Menus with the survey data showed that calculated intakes of energy, SAFA, TFA, sodium and added sugar were reduced.
Therefore, further analysis, repartition and harmonisation of the data are necessary to enable a more valid comparison of intakes across Europe.
A comparison of intakes used in intervention studies and the intake of the population in EPIC-Norfolk (Fig. 5) shows clearly that intakes in most studies were considerably higher, and it is likely that -epicatechin consumption in EPIC-Norfolk, and other cohorts, is too low to have an effect on overall CVD risk.

Each study had different cut offs for each quantile, which makes a true comparison of ALA intake exposure difficult since some studies had higher levels of ALA in their highest intake quantile than others.
