For the principal analysis of primary outcomes we used an unpaired t-test of vaccination rates children aged 12-23 months in intervention clusters compared with control clusters.
Coefficients less than 1 are associated with a less favourable response for that demographic subgroup of women in the intervention compared with control clusters.
At cluster level, the risk of infection was reduced by 10% in the intervention clusters compared with control clusters, but this effect was not significant (risk ratio 0.90, 95% confidence interval 0.49 to 1.65).
The intervention clusters were slightly disadvantaged compared with control clusters, with less access to primary health centres and fewer community health workers such as Anganwadi workers or Auxiliary Nurse Midwives.
