With the advent of biopsy and SEM analysis we are able to directly observe the morphological integrity of the epithelium as compared to the assumed integrity deduced from standard hormone dose delivery, time of ovulation and serum hormone levels.
Compared to the structural integrity of the lung tissue from the control group, the lung sections from the model group displayed a widened alveolar septum, capillary congestion, and inflammatory cell infiltration around the plasma vessels.
As shown in Fig. 3a, compared to the structural integrity of the lung tissue in the Con group, LPS infection caused capillary congestion, the obstruction of small airways by lymphocytic infiltrates, and a widening of the alveolar septa.
