In particular, high up-regulation of several putative bZIP genes occurred at the S1-S2 transition, compliments the previous results that showed one annotated bZIP gene with higher expression in early maturity fruit compared to mature and ripening fruit of 'Rocha' pear (Fonseca et al., 2004).
The thirty-eight QTL for maturity identified in S2, S4, S7 and the AYT association mapping set were projected onto the consensus map and compared to 157 maturity QTL reported previously.
