We estimated the likely general foraging locations by comparing temperature data recorded by the TDRs (using the minimum temperature measured within a few minutes of a dive) with sea surface temperature (SST) maps during the deployment period (Fig. 1; 8-day binned map from 9 16 Nov. 2009; Modis Aqua, http://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov/ftp.html).
To fill that gap, climatologists David Travis of the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, and Andrew Carleton of Pennsylvania State University, University Park, compared ground temperature data from 4000 weather stations in 48 states collected between 1971 and 2000 with similar data collected during the 3-day aircraft shutdown last September.
The parameters and incubation temperatures were either fixed or known, and the MATLAB fit function was used to derive a predicted value for T m for each lot which could be compared to temperature data logged from the field sites between flowering and seed set.
The temperatures of a narrow gap-occurring gas film with seal rings under different rotating speeds and pressures are measured, and a theoretical method is developed to compare the temperature data.
The four simulation results were compared with groundwater temperature data measured using a downgradient piezometer in order to assess the reliability of the simulations.
A temperature difference of ∼366 °C (1038 °C vs. 672 °C) was observed when comparing uncorrected IR temperature data with corrected temperature data.
There is general agreement between the various time series, except for the fact that there is an offset of about 0.8 °C in the DH and CW temperature data, compared to iMET temperature data and −15% in the DH humidity data, compared to the iMET humidity data.
Then, to simulate a cooling process, digital images of pears were imported to a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) program, and simulation results were compared with the experimental temperature data.
Firstly, it is observed that at 400°C and above, the shapes and intensities of the bands differ more from one another compared to the lower temperature data.
In fact, when we compare raw and adjusted temperature data across the surface of the whole planet, the difference between the two is barely noticeable.
