Although more research is needed in this important area, we hope that our findings will stimulate future reach and help health care providers in Saudi Arabia and similar communities to establish guidelines for effectively communicating bad news concerning newborns.
In particular, deploying providers with cultural and linguistic backgrounds shared with target populations can improve satisfaction with cancer genetic services and be helpful in reducing religious sensitivities when communicating bad news, for example in some South Asian communities.
Intervention: Preeducation experience with a standardized patient with a simulated C6 complete spinal cord injury followed by a 1-hour educational lecture using the American Medical Association's (AMA Educationn for Physicians on End-of-Life Care (EPEC) program on communicating bad news to patients.
