Stepping away from the predominant understanding of the term cosmopolitanism that frames it as an openness or tolerance of difference, I term those sociabilities formed on common aspirations of social justice, "cosmopolitan sociabilities" (Glick Schiller et al., 2011; Glick Schiller, 2015; Glick Schiller & Irving, 2015).
These are common aspirations of people, in all countries.
We have common aspirations of living in peace, breathing the clean air and being able to participate in matters concerning our lives and expressing our views.
