As indicated in Table 3, the lack of association of collision factors with the prognosis of whiplash was confirmed based on four reviews, while we identified only one or two reviews covering each of the other two factors.
Factors identified as not being associated with the prognosis of whiplash were post-injury magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or radiological findings; motor dysfunctions; and collision factors (i.e., factors related to the car accident such as the direction of impact, the use of seatbelts or headrests, and the speed of the car at the time of impact [18]).
Impact direction, head turned at impact or speed at impact did not affect outcomes, similar to previous findings on collision factors [ 24, 29, 30].
