It means "we" or "us" or "we-ness," but, as explained by Kihyoung Choi in his book "A Pedagogy of Spiraling," it blurs into a collective "I".
Excluded were also studies investigating a specific patient collective, i.e. patients living under specific socioeconomic circumstances as well as studies investigating collectives of less than 200 patients.
