In order to evaluate whether these disciplinary differences in the level of student interaction were significant, we compared the frequency of lecture-based instruction (i.e., lecturing and Socratic instruction) and the frequency of instruction that integrates student interactions (i.e., peer instruction and collaborative learning) among the three disciplines.
