To confirm if panelists believed that each attribute was a strong indicator of CPS, they were given a second question asking them to indicate the extent to which they agreed that each attribute captured what they might expect to see in each collaboration dimension.
For each collaboration dimension (shared ambition, mutual gains, relationship dynamics, organisational dynamics and process management), steering committee members indicated the extent to which he/she agreed with a given statement on a 4-point Likert-scale ranging from 1 (not at all) to 4 (totally).

However, explanatory analysis of other factors also highlighted a possible role for history of collaboration and dimensions of organizational learning culture.
To explore the changes in the collaboration process dimensions, a questionnaire was sent by e-mail at the start (T0) and end (T1) of the funding period of each ICP.
In a previous study, we found that these five collaboration process dimensions were a powerful way to predict the final perceived effectiveness (i.e. rated success) of integrated care projects (ICPs) in The Netherlands [ 10].
A questionnaire based on the model of Bell et al. [ 26] that was developed and validated by the authors in a previous study [ 10] was used to measure the five collaboration process dimensions at T0 and T1.
The questionnaire at T0 contained questions about the collaboration process dimensions, and the modified questionnaire at T1 consisted also of questions regarding information about the final perceived degree of integration effectiveness of the ICP (Details of the questionnaire are provided in the next section "Measures").
It evaluates collaboration for diverse dimensions, such as suitability of partners, task dimension, relation dimension, growth dimension, and visibility dimension.
