In case a microvascular subunit contains different types of vessels with different diameters (e.g. the sublingual vascular bed), these quantifications of flow can be made per cohort of vessel diameter: small, 10 to 25 μm; medium, 26 to 50 μm; and large, 51 to 100 μm (Figs 1 and 2).
At least one follicle in the cohort reached a diameter greater than 3.0 mm.
